Monitor : Resolution, Color, Size, Shape.

Monitor :

Monitor is one of the most used devices in the world as the main output unit of computer. It looks like a television. The device is made by Cathode Ray Tube. We can call the monitor a visual display unit (Visual display unit) abbreviated as V.D.U. After doing any work on the computer, the output or result of that work is first seen on the V.D.U or monitor. Hence it is called the main output device of the computer.

There are two types of monitors available in the computer world. Both black and white and color monitors.

It is important to know that a monitor is an important part of a computer system. Devices such as printers, plotters, barcode readers are also used less and less as output units in computers. But it is impossible to run a computer without a monitor. There is no difficulty in running a computer even if there are no output devices such as printers, plotters etc. But monitors are definitely needed.

Functions of Monitor:

After entering the data from the input unit into the computer, the monitor shows the result.Converts data generated in machine language into human understandable language.

Video Display Adapter:

Video Display Adapter is used to display any result on the monitor. This special circuit is connected to the computer motherboard. In modern computers, the video adapter is built into the motherboard itself. The monitor is connected to the video adapter by a video cable (wire).

Different adapters are available for different tasks. For example, Color Graphics Adapter or C.G.A. Enhanced Graphics Adapter or E.G.A. Video Graphics Adapter V.G.A.I

The most popular adapter used in today's computers is the V.G.A. Currently, all computers run Mono chrome and Color VGA monitors via Va cards.

Pixel :

The images that we see on the computer monitor are created with the help of several photons of light. These dots of light are connected in a row to form different characters, pictures or images.

A certain number of footkeys or dots are used to display each letter, number, symbol, etc. on the computer monitor. These dots or footkeys used in computer monitors are called pixels.

The higher the number of pixels, the clearer the monitor image will be.

Resolution:

The higher the pixel density on the monitor, the clearer the image or picture will be. This is called resolution. So the resolution will increase the clarity of the image.

It is possible to display graphics of various resolutions through VGA card. The resolution and number of colors displayed on a VGA monitor depends on the video RAM. A VGA card with 256KB of video RAM will display 256-color graphics at a resolution of 320 x 200 pixels. If the video resolution is increased on the VGA card, the color will decrease. If the resolution is increased to 640 x 480 pixels, then only 16 colors can be displayed. Keep in mind that the resolution and color graphics a VGA card can display is independent of the card or the monitor. It depends on the video RAM.

V. G.A Monitor :

VGA cards are usually used in VGA monitors. It is also called analog monitor. There are two types of VGA monitors available, Monochrome and Color. Since monochrome monitors do not display any color, these monitors do not have the ability to display high resolution 256 color video mode. So if you increase the resolution and color, the image or image is not visible on the monochrom monitor. That's why such monitors are called common VGA monitors. On the other hand, color VGA monitors display both high resolution and color, so they are called Super VGA or SVGA monitors for short.
